HISTORY

Chavara Institute of Management and Media Studies (CIMAMS) is the management education wing of Chavara Cultural Centre – a voluntary, non-sectarian, non-political institution for study and service. Established in 1971 by the Congregation of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI), the Centre stands tall as the icon of inter-religious faith and brotherhood, devoted to the unified development of art, culture and education. With the great missionary St. Cyriac Elias Chavara as its guiding light and patron saint, CIMAMS was established in 1984 to impart meaningful education and instill enriching values that empower individuals to rise above the ordinary. Managed and supervised by priests of the CMI congregation, CIMAMS is directly governed by the Prior General House head-quartered in Cochin. Strategically located within the hub of the bustling city of Cochin in Kerala, CIMAMS in association with Chavara Cultural Centre has always been at the forefront in organizing programs that address the concerns of the youth in our midst and instill in them the inner strength to move forward in life. For the past three decades, Chavara Cultural Centre has been fulfilling its humanitarian mission by establishing over 200 educational institutions across India.
